Anderson Knights of Columbus no. 4054 will hold two more fish fry’s: March 8 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stoneham and March 22 at the KC Hall in Anderson. Serving begins at 5 p.m. Plates are $15 each and includes fish, French fries, coleslaw, mac and cheese, hush puppies, dessert and tea. Dine in or take out is available.

You can still early vote until Friday, March 1 at the Grimes County Courthouse on Main St. or the Navasota Center in Navasota. At the Grimes County Courthouse, early voting is Wednesday, Feb. 28, Thursday, Feb. 29 and Friday, March 1 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. all three days. At the Navasota Center, early voting is 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. the same three days. So, there’s no excuse not to vote.

The beginning of this week was better than last week. Whatever is going around, I got it and stayed in the house for three days. When I finally went out to run an errand, there were three buzzards in my yard. I had to wave to get them out of my way, then they sat on the top of my house. I called Kacie to tell Chuck he could do some target practice and get them off. Since I was homebound for three days, they must have thought I was deceased.
