Read moreEvergreen Baptist Church had their Christmas party Dec. 15. There were around 45 people present. A fajita meal with all the trimmings and desserts were served. Everyone had a good time. A variety of games were played and there was a gift exchange including gift cards, toys and other items. Everyone seemed happy with their prizes.

Read moreSaturday, Dec. 7, was Pearl Harbor Day. That was the beginning of World War 2. Waymon Boney Blount, the son of Robert and Lillia Blount, died at Pearl Harbor. His parents had a memorial marker placed in Evergreen Cemetery in his memory. An American flag was also placed in his memory. That was 83 years ago.

He graduated with a 4.0 grade average and was accepted into a 4–year program at Texas A&M College of Medicine. Brady is the son of Jason and Kim Neuman of Onalaska and the grandson of Carnell and Blondie Carrell of Anderson.
