Graveside services for Glenda Pell Crenshaw were held in Evergreen Cemetery Friday, Feb. 2, with a good number of family and friends attending. She passed away Jan. 29, at her home in the Keith community. The service was conducted by family friend, Ricky Alderete. Nobles Funeral Chapel of Navasota was in charge of the service.

I remember when I was in elementary, Valentine’s Day was exciting. I would decorate my Valentine’s box and take it to school. Students brought Valentine’s for their friends and put them in each other’s boxes. It was fun to get home that evening and go through all my Valentine’s. When I got older, Valentine’s Day had a different meaning and is much more expensive.

Keith Civic Club held their monthly meeting Jan. 25, at Keith Civic Club. The meeting began with a covered dish meal that was enjoyed by all. The business meeting followed. This was the first meeting of the year and several people paid their yearly dues. Others will pay them later.

During Karen McDuffie’s tenure as Mayor of Anderson, Pam Johnson retired from TDCJ and was looking for a part-time job. It just so happened Cindy Olivieri, the Town Clerk at that time, decided to step down. Pam was hired in August 2019. She has done a magnificent job, attended over 70 council meetings, and was a key voice in the ongoing refurbishment of town hall.
