PLANTERSVILLE – Mark your calendars for the 44th Annual Plantersville-Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department Bazaar Sunday, April 16.
The Bazaar begins at 11 a.m. at the PSVFD Fire Station, 15985 FM 1774. There will be music, food, live and silent auction, raffle, drinks, games and entertainment for children. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet your local firefighters and raise funds for the department.

Mena will attend Texas A&M University as a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets. Following graduation from TAMU, she will enter the U.S. Army as an officer. Her scholarship includes full tuition for 4 years, room and board, a $420/month stipend, and $1,500/year for textbooks. A celebration was held March 30.

Read moreGrimes County Animal Rescue celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting Sunday, April 2, and officially opened April 3. The shelter originated as a service project by Kristen Keally Carroll for the Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholars Program. Throughout the years and multiple fundraising events, the dream has come to fruition. Carroll thanked the community for their support constructing a facility to help tackle the stray animal problem in Grimes County. The shelter is located next to the Grimes County Business and Justice Center.
