A man accused of stealing meat from a local grocery store was arrested on multiple charges April 11.
Around 11:40 a.m., Navasota Police were dispatched to the 300 block of North LaSalle Street for reports of a theft. Officers located a male matching the description at the 400 block of North LaSalle and discovered he was in possession of the alleged stolen goods, valued around $200.

Navasota Police are searching for suspects responsible for burglarizing a local convenience store Wednesday morning.
Around 4:20 a.m. April 12, officers responded to an alarm at TJ’s Grocery and Market, at the 900 block of South LaSalle Street. Review of the video system shows three masked suspects enter the building and steal cigarettes and money.

Navasota Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution to nominate Dr. Stu Musick as Texas Association of School Boards Superintendent of the Year during the regular board meeting April 17.
“Every year TASB takes nominations for Superintendent of the Year and we think a whole lot of our superintendent here,” explained NISD Board President Greg Mock. “So, this year we decided to nominate Dr. Musick.”

Class of 2020 Navasota High School alum, Mark Martinez, earned his class ring from Texas A&M University. Martinez, the son of Heladio Martinez and Dolores Cosino of Navasota, is a Petroleum Engineer major. In May he will begin an internship and he will graduate in 2024. His ring ceremony was held Friday, April 14.
