Foster children from Grimes County will sleep a little warmer thanks to the Charm and Sewing 4-H Chapter of Grimes County Extension Service. Dozens of fringe blankets, made by children from 1118, were donated to the Grimes County Child Welfare Board Rainbow Room Nov. 22.

The books donated were "America's White Table" by Margot Theis Raven and "The Poppy Lady" by Barbara Elizabeth Walsh. They also delivered Christmas cards to Sheriff Don Sowell for Grimes County first responders and employees.

The organization also donated money to support SWAT training for two Navasota Police Officers. Donations are possible through events hosted by Friends of Grimes County including Bubba Can Cook and the Grimes County Gun Show.
