Read moreThe monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club was held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, May 26, with a fair number attending. The meeting began with a covered dish meal that was enjoyed by all. There were two guest speakers, Mark Boehnke, the chief appraiser of Grimes County and Shannon Sanders, the assistant chief appraiser. They spoke about county taxes and how things are appraised. It was also announced Iola 4-H painted the Keith helipad which is located across from Keith Community Center. The work is appreciated. Also, a new bid for a roof at the center which needs to be replaced was received. The amount is $12,900. Any donations for or toward that amount would certainly be appreciated.

Read moreEvergreen Baptist Church honored the seven graduates who are members of the church Sunday, May 22, during the morning worship service. The seven graduates are: Philip Charles England, Shelton Gene Johnson, Jared Christian London, Matthew David Parra, Ava Noel Pointer, Taryn Alexandra Savage and Chloe Kyle Vaughn. They all have good plans for their future lives. May God bless them all. They were served a meal following the service and received a gift.
