Thursday, June 2, was graduation day for W.B. Bizzell Academy, in Navasota. But Bedias resident, Anthony Williams, was only able to attend in sprit. The seven graduates are: Philip Charles England, Shelton Gene Johnson, Jared Christian London, Matthew David Parra, Ava Noel Pointer, Taryn Alexandra Savage and Chloe Kyle Vaughn. They all have good plans for their future lives. May God bless them all. They were served a meal following the service and received a gift.

Read moreGrimes County VFW Post 4006 members conducted a beautiful tribute to the life of Mr. Carl Dry Saturday, March 21. Those attending were humored by Pastor Bruce Wood, Quartermaster Steve Storey and Commander Hal Reed with their stories about Mr. Carl. I am sure that everyone in the Post had been “convinced” at least once by Mr. Carl to take an officer position or job to assist with helping not only veterans but residents of Grimes County who were in need. The funny part is that you really did not realize what he had done until it was too late for you to back out. His legend lives on with the Carl Dry Veteran’s Award that will be given each year by the county. I am going to miss him picking on me.
