Grimes County Commissioners Court held a Regular Meeting Wednesday, Nov. 4, and received a presentation on CivicClerk, an agenda and meeting management software service for local government. According to County Clerk Vanessa Burzynski, the program will improve agenda preparation, submitting and approving agendas as well as minute preparation and allow livestreaming of meetings to the public.

President Serres opened the meeting, Chaplain McMillan continued in prayer and the pledges were recited. Our visitors were the Thin Blue Line Brazos Valley who graciously came to give a presentation about whom they are and who they help. In two words, ‘First Responders’ is the group they help and 100% of your contributions go to helping the First Responders in the Brazos Valley, which does include Grimes County. More people voted early or by mail than in any other election that I know of. The Keith election had 329 voters. The workers were Diane Cahall, Nancy Hock, Tina Templeton, Katheryn Bowerman and me. All of us were really tired by the end of the day.

Read moreEach year the Polish American Council of Texas (PACT) holds their annual meeting at different locations throughout Texas to highlight Polish parishes and communities. Last year, the annual meeting was held in Bandera and in 2018 it was held in Chappell Hill. This year St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church (parish that was founded by Polish immigrants over 150 years ago) will host the PACT meeting in our town of Anderson on Saturday, Nov. 14. The opening ceremony will take place in front of the Grimes County Courthouse on Main St beginning at 9:30 am. and concluding around 10:30 am. Remarks will be made by Dr Jim Mazurkiewicz, President of the PACT, Grimes County Commissioner David Dobyanski, Anderson Mayor Karen McDuffie, Chairman of the Host Committee Mike Kurtin and other officials.
