Vivian McDougald, of Iola, Texas, peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Nov. 1, 2023 in her beloved home. She was an amazing 103. Vivian was born on Oct. 11, 1920, in the same Iola, Texas to Walter and Trannie Mallett. She lost her mom at the early age of 5 which ironically made her a strong lady throughout her amazing life.

Carolyn Finney Dobyanski, born on April 22, 1951, to Harold and Fay Finney, began her journey in the close-knit community of North Houston, Texas. She was raised with three brothers and attended Sam Houston High School, graduating in the class of 1969. On November 18, 1972, Carolyn embarked on a new chapter in her life when she married the love of her life, Thomas Dobyanski. Together, they built a life full of love, dedication, and shared dreams.

Ethlynda Boenker Hensley, 95, of Navasota, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at her home with family by her side. Visitation were held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Friedens Church of Washington. Funeral services immediately followed at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in Friedens Cemetery with Rev. Eric Dehmer officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Sydney Layne Arthur was born September 10, 2001, in Houston, TX, to Todd and Donna Arthur of Navasota. A Nursing student at Hill College, Sydney was the girl who wanted to try everything – such as volleyball, basketball, showing pigs, snow skiing, and anything else. According to her brother, Forrest, she was terrible at all these things, but finally found her passion in her love for horses. Sydney began riding horses and joined her family in the rodeo world at only 8 years old. Over the years, she strengthened her love of rodeo, becoming an accomplished and respected barrel racer.
