Annie Laverne Wallingford Etheredge, age 98, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, February 18, 2024. This date happened to be the birthday of her beloved husband, John, and we have no doubt that he was waiting with open arms for her to join him in celebration. “Bern,” as she was known to most of her family had struggled with Parkinson’s and other health issues for many years, but was never one to complain or ask, “why me?” She was continuously searching for God’s “purpose” for her still being on this earth. Of course, we all knew exactly what His reason was for keeping her here: she was a most faithful disciple, always learning from His Word and putting that Truth into practice with all those she touched. She was a remarkable person, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.

Patricia Allen Stabler, 96, of Conroe, TX, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her residence. Visitation was held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Nobles Funeral Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Ray officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

The world lost a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was born on Dec. 28, 1968, in Navasota, Texas, to Tommy and Emily Lebeck and passed away on Feb. 13, 2024, at the age of 55, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Cecilia Gurka, 83, of Navasota, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Visitation with family and friends was held Thursday, February 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass was celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church with Rev. Giovanni Nguyen as the celebrant. The rite of committal followed in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Ms. Janice Kay McGinty Roliard, 73 of Navasota, passed away Monday Jan. 22, 2024 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan after a hard battle with Lung Cancer. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will begin at noon. Visitation and Funeral will be located at Union Grove Baptist Church in Whitehall, TX.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather passed away after a long, beautiful life. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his family and community. Bob Connell was a kind, gentle, caring, and loving soul. He was blessed with an open, friendly manner as well as an unquestionably strong and steadfast character. Bob loved people, made friends easily, and was widely respected by people from all walks of his life.
