The event was held at Commander Jody Ballard's residence with a total of 26 in attendance consisting of camp members and family along with music and entertainment provided by camp Chaplain Faber McMullen III for singalong Christmas carols. The event closed with camp officers Jody Ballard, Faber McMullen and Mike Harris performing the duty of new member initiation for Tim Sandlin. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a patriotic organization, not affiliated with any other organization and is neither political, racial nor sectional.
