Iola High School held their graduation ceremony at the high school gym on May 24. There was a full house to watch the 37 graduates. Many of them received scholarships to various colleges. Some plan to enter the workforce. May God bless all of them.

There was another bout of bad weather that blew into the area May 16. Around 5–inches of rain fell, and trees came down. One of the trees was at my home my entire life. Two also fell at the home of Mac and Laura McBride and others throughout the area. Charlie Wendt had a tree fall on his truck. Roads were closed from FM 244 south of Carlos. And Highway 30 near Gibbons Creek. As far as I know there was no loss of life.
