Don and I attended the 146th Annual Sheriffs’ Association of Texas Training Conference and Expo in Ft. Worth. On the way we stopped in Grandview to meet Don’s uncle Harry Brennen and his cousin and his wife, Foster and Phyllis Brennen, for lunch at R&K Café. It is always good to see Uncle Harry who will be 96 in September. He is still an amazing person.

Richards VFD is dispatched to fires as far away as Huntsville and Montgomery. During Hurricane Beryl the department worked around the clock to clear county roadways and remove debris from rural roads. Richards VFD owns an off–road military truck they can use to pull stranded vehicles from fields and mud. They also serve as EMS for accidents and 911 calls.
