The graduation party for Kaleigh was nice. Her Aunt Katie opened her home for Kaleigh’s friends and family members. I believe her grandmother, Kathy Wendt, said the banana pudding was her Aunt Ann’s recipe and it sure was good. Jordan and I eyed that bowl for some time! Kalem, are you with me?

Read moreThe big news this week was the house fire on FM 244. The house that belonged to Shirley Douthitt Keown caught fire Wednesday, May 19, about 2 a.m. and burned to the ground. The mobile home beside it was saved. Neither the house or mobile home have been lived in for some time. Iola Fire Department responded to the fire.

Read moreDue to the past rains, Mayor Charlie’s second birthday party had to be rescheduled to last Saturday. He had a Firehouse Birthday Party which included a bouncy house, hayride, swimming, Grill Sargent hot dogs and music. Several of the WHCVFD were present; Chief and Susie, Travis and Little Red, Jason and Kimberlee, Chucky and me and of course, Charlie’s parents. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I know that Chucky enjoyed that pool (even though he was in his street clothes) and I enjoyed the people, music and maybe I should add the beer! Thank you for inviting me.
