NISD presents virtual art show
Every year the Visual Art students of Navasota ISD create amazing artwork for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Art Contest, and every year the artwork continually gets better.
With local judging completed, finalists’ artwork will be judged in the next round Jan. 12. From there, a few will be selected to be showcased during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Feb. 28 through March 20, where up to 2.5 million people from 75 countries attend and have a chance to view their artwork.
“Thanks to your support of Navasota ISD’s Visual Art students, our program is representing the district, and Grimes County, on a state, national and international level,” said Navasota Art Teacher Nathan Vogt. “Please take your time to enjoy their hard work, praise them, and show your support.”
The following students advanced to the next round of judging:
Elementary Division Brule Elementary:
Angel Ibarra, Kaylen Burris, Erik Ibarra, Alyssa Sanchez, Kevin Corea; High Point Elementary: Harleigh Mutina, Naomi Munoz, Isaiah Meza, Christopher McGinty, Jemimah Nieves.
Junior High Division: Sofia Garcia, Arely Becerril, Amria Randhawa, Kaden Mayfield, Savannah Maxey, Sabrina Burnett, Adolfo Estrada, Alyssa Tenorio, Hector Ortigoza, Niolas Trejo.
High School Division: Cristine de Leon Gonzalez, Julian Jennings, Shirley Martinez, Dominick Mays, Nancy Abeja, Thania Sanchez, Selena Cosino, David Medina-Munoz, Lisset Medina, Yaritza Gutierrez, Natalie Vazque, Stephanie Padron, Haven Rodriguez, Abigail Paz, Emilia Alarcon Duarte.
