Matchup
The Rattler offense has come out of its shell in the past three weeks. Short quick passes are building confidence for senior quarterback Zack Dyer. La’Darrin Thomas displayed a ton of speed converting to short passes into long touchdowns good for 94 and 41 yards. The run game has also freed the passing game. Darius Randle rushed for over 100 yards against Worthing and had four total touchdowns.
The Spartan offense starts with quarterback Cameron Peters. He can find his playmakers through the air or pick up yardage on the ground. His favorite target is Ty’Derick Anderson, a 6-foot senior receiver. The Spartans played a tough non district schedule and remain unbeaten in District 12-4A.
Key to Victory
Navasota has shown their offense can strike quickly and their defense can limit teams. This game will come down to whether Stafford can move the ball against the Rattlers stingy defense. If they are unable to score early, then Navasota’s offense could help the Rattlers build an insurmountable lead.
