It’s vacation time

Having a holiday in the week, just totally messes up my memory. My memory of what day it is, that’s what memory. Memorial Day has had me so confused.

The Gingi visitor of the week, so far, has been Paige. I am so glad she finally has the brace off, and crutches gone. You see, she took my trash out last night. Today I will work on getting the AC filter replaced. If I get down, I may never get back up.

The Larges took a weekend mini vacation to visit with several of Rick’s friends. I know Cindy was excited to get away.

It appears that the Serres family, Gail Schroeder, Ken and Bonnie Cox and the Brak family all had an enjoyable vacation. Carol Serres and Ken Cox sure have some nice tans.

$17,440 is the Queen of Hearts pot, as of this week. Just saying.

The WHCVFD met Monday for their monthly business meeting. There were 18 members present and one guest, Paige. Let’s just say she was entertained. As a reminder, the cost of the meat per pound will be $15 per pound. With all the increases in the pricing of meat, we are finally forced to raise the price. We appreciate the continued support of our loyal community. If you know of anyone interested in becoming a firefighter or even being a part of the auxiliary, please have them call me.

My cousin who lives in Beasley called the other day and said he had a tornado. I know I asked him three times, “what?” Yes, he was sitting out on his deck and heard the train, hail and wind started and he took shelter. This reminds me of three years ago when that tornado ripped through our community. That was a very scary day and I am so blessed that I was not harmed.

Salem Lutheran Church is still having services Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If you are looking for a church home, please consider visiting one Sunday. They have vacancy pastors who come and share the Word of God.

Well, the Hotel Gingi added another guest to the list, Chucky. He has helped me trim trees in the front of my house and do some repotting of plants. I’m happy.

Al Ripper called today, and Jerri is doing much better. In fact, she has returned to work. Prayers work.

Our sick and homebound friends include Sue Kolojaco, Lawrence Lieder, Dorothy Mahaffey, Mary Bauer, Lillian Shim-shack, Albin Finke, Charles Waters, Leonard Serres, Lois Bell, John Lawrence, Allen Fields, Jerri Ripper, Susie Rimes, Rickey Bin-ford, Charles Wellman, Larry Farmer and Alexander Hanna, grandson of Curtis and Darla Kolojaco. Please add them to your prayer list.
