I had the opportunity to attend the Nation Baptist of Congress in Charlotte, NC, June 10-14. The class in mission studies was great.

Prepare to dance the night away at the Navasota Girl Scout Troop 9067 Community Sock Hop at the Navasota Community Center June 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased from any girl scout in the troop or by calling 979-739-5414. The fund-raiser is to help the girls visit Savannah, Georgia. Savanah is the birthplace of girl scout founder Juliette Gordan Low and where the first girl scout troop originated.

Plantersville Baptist is planning a roaring good time at vacation bible school June 24 through 26. There will be crafts, snacks, games, activities, music, stories and friends. I’m sorry to announce the “Old Ship of Zion” play at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia is postponed until after the director’s daughter’s surgery. I will keep you updated with a rescheduled date and time.

A Freedom Festival will be held Saturday, July 6, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in historic Montgomery, TX. There will be a parade, barbecue cookoff, baking contest etc.

Navasota ISD is hiring bus drivers. If you or someone you know is looking for a job call 936-825-1813. No previous experience is necessary, and they will train you to obtain your CDL.

St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville will celebrate its 125th Homecoming Bazaar Sunday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The church is located at 8227 CR 205.
