It was a tragic week in our area as 22-year-old Sydney Arthur, daughter of Todd and Donna Arthur, was killed in an auto accident. Sadly, it was not her fault. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time. It’s hard to understand why things like this happen but it’s not in our hands. At the time of this writing, arrangements are pending with Nobles Funeral Home. Much sympathy goes out to the family and many friends of Sydney.
Longtime Grimes County Chief Appraiser Bill Sullivan, who retired a few years back, has lost his nearly two-year battle with brain cancer. He passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 1. Bill graduated with Don from Navasota in the Class of 1969. I really got to know Bill well while I was Mayor of Anderson. He was my shining star as he helped me through the town’s tax hearings each year. Condolences to his wife Chere and all his family and friends.
