Civic Club Bake Sale Nov. 19
The annual Bruce Family Reunion was held at Keith Community Center Sunday, Nov. 6, with approximately 50 family members and friends attending. Areunion was enjoyed by all. The covered dish meal was good as always. Some attendees were descendants of the late Melvin and Edna Bruce. Their daughter, Cora Lucas, was the last of their children still living. Following the meal, there was an auction of a variety of items that will help fund future reunions.
The monthly meeting of Keith Civic Club is earlier this month in observance of Thanksgiving. The meeting is Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Keith Civic Center. The meeting will begin with a Thanksgiving potluck meal at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite dish. Hopefully it will be well attended because it’s the final meeting of the year. There won’t be a December meeting.
Keith Civic Club held their garage sale at the Keith Community Center Saturday, Nov. 5. There were lots of good items available for sale. Many items were sold, and remaining items will be saved for another sale next year. Over $2,000 was raised for the new roof. More money will be donated by others to assist with the roof. Thanks to all that made the event successful. God bless all that assisted. Keith Civic Club is also hosting a bake sale at Aurora’s on Highway 30 Saturday, Nov. 19, at 9 a.m.
There was good attendance at Evergreen Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 6. At the close of the service, there were six people baptized by Rev. Jeff Morgan, pastor of the church. Baptized included Roger and Ashley Johnson and their three children – Brooks, Camron and Aubrey. Waylon Bozeman was also baptized. The church was certainly glad to have all of them. Many of their family members were present to wish them well.
A double tombstone was placed recently in Evergreen Cemetery for Richard Lee Crawford, Jan. 15, 1944 – Oct. 23, 2018 and Vicki Marie Crenshaw Crawford, Aug. 5, 1956 – Feb. 8, 2022. May their memories be forever blessed.
Evergreen Baptist Church will have their annual Thanksgiving meal at the church Sunday, Nov. 20, following the morning worship service. The guest speaker for the service is Mike Satterfield, founder of Field of Grace Ministries. He has a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. All are invited to attend.
Jon Proskine received word of the death of his aunt, Mary Jane Barr, who passed away Friday, Nov. 4. She was his last living aunt. At the time of her death she lived in Chandler, AZ. She was the sister of Jule Marie Pecoraro who passed away in 2019. May their memories be forever blessed.
The monthly meeting of Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No 17 was held at their lodge hall in Anderson Monday, Nov. 7. The evening meal was enjoyed by all present. Following the meal, the lodge meeting was held. Right Worshipful Scott William Bratsen, District Deputy Grand Master of District No 29-B of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas. He brought the message of Grand Master of Texas, Brad Billings. All enjoyed the evening.
The polling place at Keith Community Center was open on election day Nov. 8. Election workers assisting voters included Tina Templeton, Diane Cahill, Jo Pearce, Kathy Bowermon, Brett and Barbara Henry and John Ray Maxwell. Some were there all day and others just part of the day. Thanks to all of them.
