Seventh grade Fangs complete district
BELLVILLE – It was a strong finish for the seventh- grade B team Fangs who earned a district title with a 34-6 win over Bellville. The seventh-grade A team placed second.
The Fangs B team (7-1) scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters and a pair of touchdowns to close out the game. Zaelyn Harris had a huge night with three touchdown runs. His first touchdown was a 33-yarder in the opening quarter. Quinnton Jessie ran in the conversion.
Jessie completed a 55-yard pass to Julian Hernandez in the second quarter for the Fangs second score. Jessie rushed for the conversion. Harris had a 45-yard touchdown run in the third and a 37-yard touchdown in the fourth. Jessie rushed for the conversion on the third quarter score and Harris ran in the fourth quarter conversion.
Kaiden Kelly had a 91-yard run to complete the Fang scoring. Defensive standouts were Julian Hernandez and Jose Avila-Ventura.
7th GradeATeam
Navasota (6-2) fell short in both matchups against the run-heavy Bellville attack this season, the latest a 25-34 loss in the district championship.
Trystan Cross scored a pair of touchdowns in the game. He had a first quarter run of 43 yards and a 70 -yard run in the third quarter.
Collin Dacus had a 1-yard touchdown run in the second. Dacus connected with Jabrell Joyce for the conversion. Dacus connected with Joyce again in the fourth quarter for a 12-yard touchdown. The conversion failed.
Defensive standouts were Brasen Ramos and Kelton Leonard.
