Owl defense stingy in opener
ANDERSON- Anderson-Shiro continues its winning ways as the Owls down the Rosebud-Lott Cougars 32-0, to begin the season.
The Owls (1-0) had dominant performances by several players to sending the Cougars (0-1) away searching for answers.
Cole Werner paced the Owl passing game with 125 passing yards and two touchdowns. The junior quarterback also rushed for 57 yards.
Shadeed Jones led the ground attack with 101 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns. He also contributed on defense with 5 tackles, 1 TFL and a fumble recovery.
Ca’Darrius Williams had two catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Kreese Milligan spearheaded the defense with 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, a forced fumble and an interception. Kelvin Adair also had 7 tackles and 3 TFL. Rance Imhoff pitched in with 6 tackles, 3 TFL and a forced fumble. Zaccarius Haynes returned an interception 63 yards for a touchdown.
Rosebud-Lott hosts Chilton Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. Anderson-Shiro will be on the road in Leon scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
