ASHLEY LYNN CAREY 1987 – 2020

Ashley Lynn Carey, 32, of Millican, died Friday, January 18, 2020, in Newton, Texas.

A graveside service with military honors was held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, at Wheat Cemetery in Millican, Texas. Mike Mertes officiated.

Serving as pallbearers were Zackary Marks, Robby Wilkerson, Austin Helwig, Justin McWhorter, Cody McWhorter and J.D. Marks.

Ashely was born Sunday, May 31, 1987 in Bryan, Texas. She grew up in Millican and graduated from Navasota High School in 2005. Upon graduating she joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served two tours of duty. Due to injuries she was honorable discharged in November of 2012 and returned to Millican.

Survivors include her children, Triston and Gail Carey; her parents, Gary and Desiree Carey; three brothers, Matthew Lewis, David Earl Carey and Brian Wayne Carey along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
