Residents uncooperative in shooting investigation
Navasota Police are investigating a series of shootings they believe are related. The latest reported at Ruth Court.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Ruth Court Jan. 25 for reports of shots fired. During the investigation officers located evidence confirming the shooting. A residence was also damaged from gunshots. No injuries were sustained.
Officers spoke with people in the residence and family members of those inside the residence, however they were uncooperative with the investigation.
Investigators believe the shooting is related to a Jan. 21 shooting on Ratcliff Street. During that shooting officers seized three firearms and narcotics during the search of a residence and a vehicle.
“We need the communities help identifying suspects in recent shootings,” stated Navasota Police Chief Mike Mize. “Thankfully no one has been injured, but that may change if the shootings continue.”
Officers urge anyone with information to contact Navasota Criminal Investigations Division, 936-825-6410 or Grimes County Crime Stoppers, 936-873-2000.
