Navasota accident injures five

A single-vehicle accident in Navasota Jan. 29, injured five people.

Navasota Police responded to the accident on Texas 6 near the Business 6 split north of Navasota. Officers determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Texas 6 when it left the roadway and struck the Business 6 overpass column. 

The vehicle was occupied by two adults and three children. All occupants were taken to various local hospitals with three suffering critical injuries and two listed as stable. 

Officers believe wet conditions likely contributed to the crash.
