The group recited the National Federation of Music Clubs Invocation and sang the National Anthem, accompanied by Marie Guest on piano and Sparky Thomason on trumpet.
Attendees were then treated to several musical interludes before resuming the business portion of the meeting. Lunch was provided by the Rockdale Club - including a decorated cake to commemorate this year’s 100th anniversary of National Music Week (May 7-14).
Navasota Club was founded in 1912 and began celebrating Music Week several years prior to the National Federation establishment of National Music Week. The final business was the election and installation of the 2023-2025 District Officers. The meeting closed with singing of the NFMC Benediction—The Gift of Song.
