Iola Jacks Tournament tradition continues at high school
IOLA – Iola yearbook staff hosted their Second Annual Jacks Tournament April 6, at the high school gym.
Seven teams competed in the classic game of Jacks for a medal and bragging rights. The Iola Yearbook staff began the tournament to promote school spirit, class pride, and a welcome break. This year the tournament added a sixth-grade team.
The class of 2023 won the inaugural tournament and was determined to win again this year. Teams representing grades 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12th competed and again adding additional spark was a team of faculty members. The tournament included two 5-minute intervals to reach the highest score with the top three finishers competing in a sudden-death playoff round.

The first-place team won a medal of their choice and had their names placed on a plaque.
