Entergy donates fans to Christian Community Center
The summer is heating up in Texas and the rise in temperatures can be deadly without residents having the means to stay cool. Texas residents can stay substantially cooler by using fans to supplement air conditioning.
For the 19th year, Entergy Texas Inc.is stepping up to combat the heat donating 1,300 fans to nonprofit agencies to help low-income customers. They have distributed 21,900 fans to assist residents since the inception of the program in 2001.
Fans were dispersed between 19 entities throughout the western region of Texas including 50 fan donations to Christian Community Center, 814 N. Lasalle St, in Navasota.
“We really appreciate Entergy for everything they do for us,” said Patricia Gaston of the Christian Community Center. “We look forward to the fan donation each year, and the fan recipients are always really appreciative.”
Gaston said residents needing fans must register with the Christian Community Center. She stated they assist over 285 families with various services including food and clothing.
Entergy Texas provides electricity to approximately 450,000 customers in 27 counties, and a representative from Entergy said even though we are a large company we are local and want to assist the local communities.
If you or your family need assistance, reach out to the Christian Community Center, 936-825-7454.
Entergy also stated they have other programs that can assist those in need with electricity bills. For more information visit, entergytexas.com.
