Summer is in full swing. What are your children doing this summer? Go to the Anderson-Shiro website at www.ascisd.net and check out the summer sports camps. If your children aren’t into sports, the school offers other activities that might interest them.

Get involved in our local theater. Take your children to a play or sign up to volunteer at the theater, it’s loads of fun. The Sunny Furman Theatre is located at 104 W. Washington in Navasota. Speaking of the theater, my cousin’s son Tyler Mount just won his second Tony Award. Tyler, a 2008 graduate of Montgomery High School, recently made history by becoming the youngest two-time Tony Winner and Olivier Winner in theatrical history. In recognition of co-producing the Broadway winning show for Best New Musical “Hadestown,” Tyler earned his second Tony Award. He won his first Tony Award in 2018 for his production work on “Once On This Island” which won Best Revival of a Musical. Earlier in April 2019, Tyler also won an Olivier Award in London, England for his work on the Winner for Best New Play, “The Inheritance.” Tyler is excited to announce that he will be instrumental in helping to bring “The Inheritance” to Broadway later this Fall.

Tyler is the co-creator and co-founder of the Marquee Channel, Broadway’s first free digital video network dedicated to providing the theater community high quality, engaging content with the stars and shows currently on Broadway. Focused on diversity, inclusivity and accessibility, the Marquee Channel offers a varied slate of custom content that appeals to anyone who loves the performing arts. The Marquee Channel can be found on YouTube. Tyler is the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing at NBCUniversal, LLC and is responsible for overseeing the social media and marketing teams and NBCUniversal’s newest e-commerce start up. He is the son of Gregory and Yvonne Mount of Montgomery and grandson of Linette “Tootsie” Mock of Dobbin.

Clayton Molitor and Suzy Scheiber were united in marriage Saturday, June 22, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas A reception followed at the Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club. Clayton is the son of Michael and Frances Molitor and Suzy is the daughter of Gerhardt and Roxanna Scheiber of Vancouver, British Columbia. Clayton and Suzy will reside in Dallas.
