Wreaths Across America Dec. 16
Christmas is quickly approaching, and I still have so much to do. I have almost decided what gets done and the rest will just have to wait.
I spent three days working on VFW Auxiliary reports and my attitude was not good, but Mike Devenport sent me a very kind email that boosted my frame of mind. Thank you, so much Mike and Audrey, for supporting the 150-year planning and for your generous donation.
The White Hall Community VFD had their monthly BBQ sales. I had a big VFW meeting at the Navasota Post, so I was unable to assist. It appears that the profits were good and that is great. Thanks to all our continued supporters. The monthly business meeting was held on Monday, Dec. 4, with 19 members present, one adult visitor and two mini future firefighters. One of those littles was moving around in his green Jeep but what else would you expect from a Vickers family member.
Upcoming training was discussed by Training Coordinator, Christopher Vickers. Truck 394 is still in the shop, and the digital sign still awaits installation. The upcoming schedule includes first Saturday BBQ Jan. 6. Jan. 8 is the monthly business meeting and January 29 is the fifth Monday so there will be a family buffet supper and games.
The fire department is wanting to sell the rescue boat, motor, trailer and tank for $20,000. If you are interested or need more information, please contact Chief Larry Vickers, 281-620-3546.
Don’t forget; residents are welcome to come to the meetings to stay informed. In addition, we ask that members come, and we invite more residents to join.
Wreaths Across America will be placed at Salem Lutheran Cemetery Dec. 16. The official time to place is noon so we will begin at 11:30 a.m. Veterans are invited to attend. If you wish to come and help or observe, please call me for further details.
Please add our sick and homebound friends to your prayer lists. These friends include Lois Bell, Jean Fleischhauer, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Mary Whatley, Billie Wittenbach, Suzie and Jack Rimes, Alexander Hanna, Troy Weigand, Shawn Welch, Delores Mitschke, Glenn Binder and Betty Feldmann.
I read where our little buddy, Gabriel Goode, is back for tests and the family is waiting for the results. Please pray for this little boy and his family. This has been a tough time for this family.
