Thanks to all who supported the annual KBTX Food for Families Food Drive held Wednesday, Dec. 4, at various locations including Mid-South Synergy in Navasota.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed the Plantersville Christmas parade that was held Saturday, Dec. 7.
The city of Navasota is hosting Home for the Holidays Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon till 7:30 p.m. The Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. and the official Christmas tree lighting will follow immediately after the parade.
Also Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2 p.m. till 10 p.m. Anderson Holiday Fest will return for year two featuring great music, vendors, hot dog eating contest, children’s area and more. Performers include Johnny Lee, Rick Trevino, Jason Cassidy, Bri Bagwell and more. Advance tickets can be purchased online at andersonholidayfest.com and tickets will also be available at the gate the day of the event.
Veterans needing flu shots can get a free flu vaccine at Walgreens until March 31, 2020. To receive the free vaccine, veterans need to have their Veterans Health ID card and have one other form of ID.
UC Out and About will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at Bernhardt Winery, 9043 CR 204 in Plantersville from noon till 6 p.m.

• Sock Drive for senior citizens. Donate two pair of socks or one package of socks. They may also be dropped off to the Grimes Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office, 203 Veterans Memorial, Navasota.
