Our beloved Mitzi Ward Byars, 63 of Plantersville, passed away Monday, February 28, at her home. Visitation with family and friends was held Wednesday, March 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life was 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, also at the funeral home with interment immediately following in Plantersville Cemetery. Joe Hejl officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

George Gaylon Massey “Pops” gained his wings at home on Sunday February 27, 2022, surrounded by his family, at the age of 81. George was born on November 14, 1940 in Hickory, Mississippi, to George Williford Massey and Lillie Dew Griffin Massey. He was raised by his grandmother, Anna Bell, in Hickory until he was 16 years old and then went back to his parents’ home to live with his siblings. George was the oldest of 5 siblings.

Visitation with family and friends was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota. John Compton Webb, Jr. passed away on February 15, 2022 after a relentless fight against cancer. He was born on December 28, 1956 to Dr. John and Aminuan Webb in Navasota, Texas. John attended Navasota ISD where his father was superintendent of schools. He loved and played all sports in Jr. High and High School. Sports remained a passion his whole life. John’s faith in Christ has served as the foundation for his life and he was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Navasota.
