MITZI WARD BYARS

Our beloved Mitzi Ward Byars, 63 of Plantersville, passed away Monday, February 28, at her home. Visitation with family and friends was held Wednesday, March 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life was 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, also at the funeral home with interment immediately following in Plantersville Cemetery. Joe Hejl officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mitzi was born on February 23, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Margaret Ward of Plantersville. She was a beautiful soul who loved her grandchildren, enjoyed the outdoors, family gatherings, fishing and slot machines. Mitzi was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, memaw, and friend and was loved and cherished by many.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Richard Byars of Plantersville; son Jacob Williams of Navasota; son and daughter-in-law Walter and Maegan Bateman of Plantersville; son Danny Byars & wife Haylee; son Derrick Byars & wife Melanie; daughter Gretchen Byars; sister Lona Goodson of Plantersville; brother and sisters-in-law Tony and Tammy Ward; 15 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews

Preceding her in death were Mitzi’s parents Walter and Margaret Ward; sister Dinah Dennis; brother Carl Ward.

Servings as pallbearers are Dawson Park, Tyler Wynkoop, Colby Ward, Allen Byars, Bruce Ward and Trey Bills. Bruce George is named an honorary pallbearer.
