Navasota Mayor Bert Miller will present the annual State of the City address on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. The address will be delivered at the Navasota Center where the mayor will recap the year 2021 and provide his vision and insight for 2022 and beyond. In addition to the mayor’s presentation, updates will also be received by Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth, NISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick, and BVCOG Director Michael Parks.

The Grimes County Republican Party’s March 1 Primary Ballot Draw was attended by three statewide candidates who came to Navasota to participate in person, as well as candidates for the three-way race for Grimes County’s County Clerk position. Spherion Staffing and Recruiting President, Katherine Kleemann, and Spherion Regional Manager for the Brazos Valley, Holly Huddleston, presented a check for $500 to Navasota High School principal, Kristy Ramsey, CTE Director, Frank Perez, and NISD Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Ronnie Gonzalez to help support CTE programs at Navasota High School. Grimes County Commissioners Court held its last Regular Meeting for 2021 Wednesday, Dec. 15, and approved the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) subgrant award letter for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program DR-4332 in the amount of $142,500 and authorized the county judge as signatory. The County’s in-kind match of 25% is not to exceed $37,500.
