Saturday, Aug. 10, Matthew James Armatys joined a distinguished group of individuals worldwide– that of an Eagle Scout. Matthew, the son of Cindy and James Armatys, is also No. 56 from BSA Troop 361 of Navasota to be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout since the troop’s formation and charter by the Navasota Kiwanis in 1941. Troop chairman Benjamin Mendez and Scoutmaster Patrick Price presided over the Eagle Scout Court of Honor at the Grimes County VFW Post 4006 in Navasota.
