Read moreThe Navasota Planning & Zoning Commission held a Public Hearing Aug. 8 to receive comments on a zoning amendment initiated by the City of Navasota to prohibit tobacco, hookah and vapor retail stores in the city’s 14 zoning districts. Commissioner Ethan Barcak’s motion to approve - excluding tobacco - passed 5-1 with Commissioner Todd Wisner voting nay. According to Development Services Director Lupe Diosdado, the zoning change was prompted by increased requests to open vape shops in Navasota and school vaping incidents.
