Over 124 people enjoyed an 'End of Summer Splash' at the Bedias Museum and Library Saturday, Aug. 6. The community celebrated the end of of summer with several activities including a water slide, bounce house, free snow cones from Bro-Cones, beaded art stations, baseball cap painting, free painting lessons and more. Costco Warehouse's long-awaited grand opening occurred this past week with much hoopla County Chamber and the BCS Chamber. Hundreds of people were on hand for the opening tions. Costco General Manager Kiley Fitzpatrick expressed a gratitude for the overwhelming County, including Navasota City Manager Jason Weeks and Councilman Grant Holt.

A 31-year-old Navasota man lost his life Saturday night, Aug. 6, when his motorcycle collided with an 18-wheeler. Navasota Interim Police Chief Mike Mize stated at approximately 8:30 p.m., Navasota Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a major crash on Farm-to-Market Road 379 near Minnie Street.
