With so much going on lately, I have had little contact with anyone other than the grandchildren. Spring break lasted till this current week and my house looks like a tornado came thru but that is okay. I will straighten when I get around to it. I guess they felt at home here at the Gingi Hotel.

Read moreThis week has been crazy to say the least. I don’t even know what events to report or which ones that have been canceled. It is just my opinion that this Coronavirus situation has been blown way out of proportion. Everyone needs to use common sense and just do what you would normally due to prevent a flu or virus. You will not be “punished” if you don’t attend Mass or go to a church service. Don’t take the chance of being exposed to any kind of flu or virus or exposing others. Hopefully this situation will pass soon, and things will get back to our normal way of living each day.

Read moreThe memorial service for Edward Ray Pointer, Sr. that was held at the Evergreen Baptist Church Saturday, March 7, was certainly well attended. The church was filled with both family members and friends that spoke about his life while a slideshow played in the background with pictures of him and his family. More chairs were brought in to make plenty of room. The message was delivered by his cousin Jason Pointer. Lunch was served at the fellowship hall following the service. Later that day his ashes were taken to the Pankey Cemetery. Ray was a 1968 graduate of Iola High School. Please remember his wife Martha and family in your prayers.
