Richards looks a little different this week after a recent rain. The old oak tree that is located next to Richards Grocery fell and blocked the road. Don Brame posted on Facebook the tree located on Trinity Street fell, which grabbed the attention of many locals.
Read moreThe church services at all our area churches have now been closed due to the Coronavirus. Evergreen Baptist Church and Iola Missionary Baptist Church can now be seen on the church’s website. Hopefully all of this mess will soon be over, and the members will be back in church. Also, the Wednesday night service was viewed online as well.

This declaration authorizes the city to take any action necessary to promote health and suppress the virus, including the quarantine of persons and occupied structures, examining and regulating hospitals, etc.

We will be following the guidelines of Governor Abbott during this crisis our nation is experiencing. In addition, the 5th Annual Birthday Bash scheduled for April 25 is being postponed until a later date. The community of Whitehall appreciates all the support we receive from all our loyal friends.

Read moreI am praying this crazy Coronavirus situation will end soon. I know one thing for sure it’s either bringing families closer together or tearing them apart because of too much togetherness. Don’s sister and her husband Denise and Joe Shead came up from Santa Fe to their little place in the country to get away. We visited all weekend about how the younger generation is having a hard time dealing with the whole “self-quarantine” issue. I think our generation can handle it much better.
