Rattler freshman clinch district title

The Navasota freshman football team secured District 12-4A championship with a 42-0 win over the Brazosport Exporters Thursday, Oct. 27, at Rattler Stadium. Navasota was undefeated in district play.

 

Ashten Myles led the way for Navasota with three rushing touchdowns. Grayson Munoz and KT Garrett also had a rushing touchdown each. Andres Luna recovered an Exporter fumble in the endzone for a touchdown.

 

Junior Varsity

Navasota Junior Varsity defeated Brazosport 34-6 finishing second in District 12-4A. The Rattlers finish the season 7-2, 5-1. 

 

Da’Corei Jackson connected with Javarious Steptoe for 55-yards to begin the scoring. Joseph McNeal scored on a 72-yard run to give the Rattlers and Xavier Blackshear ran in the conversion for a 14-0 halftime lead.

 

In the second half Navasota scored on an 8-yard run by Blackshear, then a 27-yard run by Jackson. Blackshear ran in one of the two conversion attempts. The final score was a 2-yard run by Nick Hernandez.

 

Defensively the Rattlers had fumbles recovered by Steptoe, Alfred Brosig and Damien Spence. Alex Lopez had four tackles including one for a loss. Derek Perry had three tackles. Richard Feldhans had two tackles and a pass breakup.
