BULLARD - Iola packed up and headed to Bullard for their last game prior to district against the Maud Cardinals. The game was close throughout, but the Cardinals ultimately flew away with a 22-18 win. Carrying the team offensively was Cale Creamer with 124 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also ran in a conversion. Brian Crosby was 5-of-9 passing for 59 yards. As the teams went back and forth with a nail-biting fourth quarter, the Cardinals scored on a 4-yard run late to pull ahead of the Bulldogs for good. Next week, Friday, Oct. 7, the Bulldogs kickoff district play hosting the Granger Lions at 7: 30 p.m.
