Celebrating Constitution Week
Two local organizations, Grimes County Republican Women and Robert Raines Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, shared information about the U.S. Constitution during Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23.
Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 17-23, Constitution Week in Grimes County. GCRW and DAR presented to all fifth-grade students in Grimes County schools and Madisonville. The presentation included a gift of the Tuttle Twins Book Series to each school library. The book project was underwritten by State Senator Lois Kolkhorst. The DAR Chapter gave Constitution Kits to all eighth-grade teachers in Grimes County ISD’s. The kits included a large copy of The Constitution, Teacher’s Curriculum Guide, a video and pocket Constitutions for all eighth-grade students.
