Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the re-dedication and Homecoming for Macedonia Baptist Church. According to the last Homecoming program, 2013 was the last Homecoming celebrated. Thanks in advance. Southern Charm Boutique and Salon in Navasota is partnering with Christian Community Services in Navasota to fill their food pantry. They began accepting items Sept. 15 and will continue to collect through Nov. 15. Let’s help our community! Drop off your food items at Southern Charm and for every two items you donate, you receive one entry into a drawing for a $100 Southern Charm gift card.
Plantersville Town Hall is hosting a 52 Gun Raffl e this year. All proceeds benefit Plantersville Town Hall, which is a 501-C3 charitable organization. Plantersville Town Hall supports Plantersville and surrounding communities with student scholarships, maintains the historic Plantersville Town Hall building, barbershop, hosts various civic events and maintains the community playground. Tickets are $100 each and only 500 tickets will be sold. Every ticket drawn will be put back in the drum for more chances to win. Each ticket sold has 52 chances to win. Drawings will begin the first Tuesday of the month following the last ticket being sold. Tickets went on sale Sept. 5. To purchase tickets, email Terry Bratcher, terry.pth@gmail.com. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that each year one in six Americans will get sick from eating contaminated food in homes and restaurants. That’s why the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is offering a certified food manager course. The next class is Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Brazos County Extension Office in Bryan. This hands-on food safety course will equip people with the latest in food safety principles and practices and help prepare them for the National Certified Food Manager Examination.
