Rattler freshman beat Ricebirds

EL CAMPO – The Navasota freshman Rattlers used a big second quarter to roll past the El Campo Ricebirds 39-14. The Rattlers outscored the Ricebirds 36-7 in the opening-half. Mark Mc-Ginty tossed four touchdown passes to three different receivers. Evan Otto caught two touchdowns, and his twin, Owen Otto, caught one. Valentin Castañeda also caught a touchdown. Elijah Jennings rushed for a pair of scores.

Defensively, Dre Chavez had two interceptions. Nicolas Luna and Giovanni Perez each recovered a fumble.

The freshman host Bay City Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m.
