There were several key hits but arguably none bigger than the walk-off dagger delivered by Navasota’s Jenna Strode to claim an 11-10 win in an intense battle with Bellville Tuesday, March 22, at Ira Floyd Field in Navasota.
With Navasota trailing 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh, and down to its final out with a runner on first, Bellville elected to give senior Trinity Loukanis her second free pass of the night, after she delivered a two-run bomb in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead.
Strode made the Lady Brahmas pay with a huge 2-RBI walk-off double to center field. Strode finished her night 2-3 with a pair of RBIs, a run scored and two walks.
Mia Nunez led Navasota going 3-4 at the plate with four runs scored and a walk. Loukanis finished 2-3 including 3 RBIs, three runs scored and two walks.
