Vehicle strikes pedestrian, flees

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run accident that injured 27-yearold Irma Alaniz of Navasota, Sunday, Jan. 16.

DPS Sgt. Justin Ruiz stated at approximately 10:22 p.m., a silver passenger car was traveling southbound on County Road 419 in Navasota. Alaniz was walking southbound on CR 419 when the right side of the vehicle struck her. Alaniz was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan with minor injuries.

Ruiz said the silver car fled the scene but lost their passenger side mirror in the incident. The accident is still under investigation and Ruiz said no arrests have been made.
