White Hall Cafe makes donation
White Hall Community VFD met for their monthly business meeting Monday, Jan. 5. There were 16 members present and one visitor. The election of officers for 2022 are: President, Mike Serres; Secretary, Gail Schroeder; Treasurer, Bonnie Cox; Fire Chief, Freeman Vickers; Training Officer, Christopher Vickers and Assistant Chief, J.R. Woolley.
The VFW Auxiliary has a drop-off station at Discount Cleaners in Navasota for the pull tabs and plastic lids. Darlene is a lifetime member of the Auxiliary and she will accept these donations. If you could, we would really appreciate your donations for our projects.
The White Hall Taxpayers Association met Jan. 6 for the first quarterly meeting of the organization. Twenty members were present, and another couple came to join. Christi Carter, co-owner of the White Hall Café and member, brought a check for $800 which was the profit from the 2nd Annual Pig Roast they held to help the center. If you are living in the community, please consider joining this organization and help preserve the history of its beginnings as well as the property itself.

The group is planning a Car Show with extras for May 21. This will include the show, food vendors, raffles and socializing with the community and guests. As soon as I get more information, I will let you know. An additional meeting is scheduled for Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in order to finalize all the plans and coordinate the upcoming event.

The American Legion McCluskey Post 640 in Anderson will be hosting a benefit for veterans and families Saturday, Jan. 22, from noon till 5 p.m. at the K.C. Hall. Elvis tribute artist, Terry Price, will be performing and local musician, Bill Mock, is included in this entertainment. Admission is $15 or $20 at the door with kids under six free. Two hot dogs, chips and a drink are included with admission. This Post 640 uses the money they raise to help veterans and their families in many ways.
