Gooch running to state

CORPUS CHRISTI – Iola sophomore Lindsey Gooch continues her run to success, qualifying for the 2A State Cross Country Meet in her first year competing in cross country at Iola High School.

Gooch continued her undefeated career at the 2A Regional Cross Country Meet in Corpus Christi Monday, Oct. 25, fighting through extremely-high humidity to finish the course in 12:33. The win qualifies her for the 2A State Cross Country Meet Saturday, Nov. 6, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Start time is slated for 8:30 a.m.

This season Gooch has finished in first place in Madisonville twice, setting a new course record (13:53). She also won in Navasota, Anderson, Latexo and at the District 26-2A meet in Caldwell.
