Keith Civic Club meeting Thursday, Oct. 28

The annual meeting of the Concord Cemetery Association was held Saturday, Oct. 16, with a large attendance. It was one of the largest attended since the beginning of COVID. The meeting was called to order by President Andy Selman, then people introduced themselves. The meeting lasted several hours, and new bylaws were discussed. The burial fee will remain $300.

The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club will be held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, Oct. 28, beginning with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting will follow the meal. Hopefully there will be some discussion of the upcoming election on Nov. 2. All members are expected, and visitors are always welcome. Hope to see you there.

On Sunday, Oct. 31, the Sowell Family will be in charge of the service at Evergreen Baptist Church. Their singing is always enjoyable. Following the service lunch will be served in the church’s fellowship hall. All are invited to attend.

The monthly meeting of the Iola-North Zulch Order of the Eastern Star was Monday, Oct. 25, at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge. The meeting began with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. Their business meeting followed. There was no meeting last month for a variety of reasons.

The monthly meeting of the Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge is Monday, Nov. 1. The meeting will begin with a covered dish meal at 6 p.m. and will be followed by their business meeting. All masons are invited to attend.

A monthly meeting of the Bedias Masonic Lodge No 651 will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2. There will be a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. with the lodge meeting to follow. All masons are invited to attend.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming election on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. The Keith Community Center will be open to voters. Do your civic duty and vote.

The monthly meeting of the Pyramid Masonic Lodge No 593 was held at their lodge hall in North Zulch Tuesday, Oct. 19, with a good number of masons in attendance. The covered dish meal was enjoyed by all. During the lodge meeting a special presentation was held. Billy Simmons who has been a member of the lodge for 50 years was given a 50-year pin by D.D.G.M. Mike Simpson.
